Fall Trend Watch

With summer barely under way, it’s hard to start thinking about fall, but for those of you that like to stay ahead of the curve, here’s a brief look at what’s coming up.

When the designers previewed their fall lines, there were tons of asymmetrical designs, especially in necklaces.  This will definitely be a trend for urban areas, but for the rest of us this look usually doesn’t catch on.

Beaded designs will become more popular, with colored glass beads and long, layered necklaces gaining in prominence.  Mixed materials like beads with ribbon or distressed leather will have their place in the autumn line up.

Alternative metals like steel and pewter will see a bump, as consumers move to more affordable, but still stylish, designs.  In this same vein, look for simple pendants in sterling, vermeil, and other metals on simple leather cording.

As usual, wild and bold has its place, but appealing and meaningful pieces will always have their place.
