Our best deal on saris! In India, the sari is worn by most women for everyday and for special occasion use. The nicer "Sunday Best" saris are often sold once they have gone out of fashion. These fantastic saris, many with only a small hole or stain, are then reused for other Indian products like bedcovers, cushion covers, purses, etc. The most valuable part of these saris is the four inch metallic thread border that runs the length of a typical 15' sari. The rest of the fabric, nearly 15' long and almost 3' wide, is usually richly colored but not as elaborately embroidered as the edging. It is this "remnant" that we sell as the "cut border" sari. We have worked out a deal with a major supplier to buy these for a very good price. These "cut saris" are assorted in silk, rayon, or cotton. They're beautiful, and are excellent as decorations, for curtains, throws and the like. Note: Since these are actual used saris, many have defects, like stains, tears or frayed edges imparted by previous owners that validate their vintage nature. Also, the edge that the border is removed from is not hemmed. Make no mistake, these are lovely pieces of beautiful fabric, but they are not in perfect condition. We have sold thousands of these over the years, so our customers must really love them!
